Chesham & Amersham Liberal Democrats
We are the local Liberal Democrat party for people living in the Chesham & Amersham constituency.
For a long time, the political map here in the Chilterns looked the same. But over the last few years, something special has happened. Neighbours started talking to neighbours about the issues that really matter! Be it our rare chalk streams, the impact of HS2, and the future of our high streets.
The 2021 Turning Point
The journey truly took off in 2021. It started in May when the Liberal Democrats took control of Amersham Town Council. Just weeks later, the eyes of the country turned to us: Sarah Green won a historic by-election, becoming our first-ever Liberal Democrat MP. It wasn't just a political win; it was a clear message that our community wanted a representative who puts local people first.
Winning for Our Towns
Since then, we haven't looked back. We believe that local government works best when it’s filled with people who live on your street and care about your neighborhood. Today, we are proud to provide a unified voice across the area:
- In Chesham: We now hold all 19 seats on the Town Council, working tirelessly to keep our town vibrant, green, and welcoming.
- In Amersham: Following our 2025 "clean sweep," we hold all 15 seats on the Town Council, delivering a dedicated team for every ward.
- At the County Level: We have 11 Buckinghamshire Councillors representing our constituency, fighting for better roads, schools, and services for everyone.
What Drives Us?
We aren’t just here for elections; we’re here for the long haul. You’ll find our team out all year round, whether we're:
- Protecting our Water: Fighting to stop sewage being dumped into the River Chess and River Misbourne.
- Standing up to HS2: Demanding better for the residents and landscapes affected by the project.
- Saving our Green Spaces: Ensuring the beauty of the Chilterns is preserved for future generations.
From Gerrards Cross to the Missendens, and across Chesham, Amersham, and the Chalfonts, we are honored to be your voice. We’re neighbors working for neighbors, building a fairer, greener future for the place we all call home.
